Among the most advanced innovations developed by Thrustmaster is H.E.A.R.T. HALLEFFECT ACCURATE TECHNOLOGY. The Technology ensures the most accurate reproduction of movements made on a product in games. It relies on magnetic – and not mechanical – movement detection set comprising a Halleffect sensor and a magnet placed respectively in different locations according to the product in question. The precision made possible by the use of this technology is significantly higher than that provided by standard technologies. Another advantage of this system: by eliminating all friction, it guarantees zero mechanical wear, for permanent precision that won’t decrease over time. The level of precision is also enhanced by the absence of any dead zones: even the slightest movement made by the player results in a reaction. Patent applications have been filed for this groundbreaking technology. H.E.A.R.T technology is mainly featured in high-end Thrustmaster racing wheels and joysticks.
In terms of immersion and experience, the last motor used of the Force Feedback implemented in the T500RS is also a complete and realistic innovation: the super-powerful and smooth Force Feedback. In both the T500 RS and Ferrari F1 Integral T500, the benchmark Force Feedback racing wheels, an industrial motor (150 mNm torque, 3000 RPM, 65 W, Ø 52 mm/2”) ensures super-powerful, quick-responding FFB effects. Another important feature is the rigid, motorized stopper, which functions no matter what angle of rotation the user selects.
Thrustmaster also puts an emphasis on user-friendliness by incorporating features dedicated to user comfort into its controllers. The mapping function, found in many of Thrustmaster’s products, allows users to reassign the placement of controls (functions of buttons, axes, mini-sticks…) for enhanced ergonomics in any game.
Of course, one can’t neglect to mention Thrustmaster’s ability to design exact replica controllers when discussing the brand’s know-how. For the HOTAS Cougar and HOTAS Warthog joysticks, Thrustmaster’s teams took on the ambitious projects of designing exact replicas of the U.S. Air Force F-16 Block 52 controller (stick and throttle) and U.S. Air Force A-10C attack aircraft HOTAS™ (Hands On Throttle And Stick) flight controls. Thrustmaster has also allowed users to live out their car racing dreams by creating perfect replica Ferrari wheels, with products such as the Ferrari F1 Wheel Add-On, Ferrari 150° Italia and Ferrari F430 Force Feedback Racing Wheel PC.
Thrustmaster’s skills are not limited to hardware, but extend to mastery of software development as well. The brand has created a unique application for its flagship joysticks: T.A.R.G.E.T.™ (Thrustmaster Advanced Programming Graphical EdiTorTM), a software suite allowing users to test, configure and program Thrustmaster® controllers, including the HOTAS Warthog™, MFD Cougar, HOTAS Cougar™ and T.16000M.
T.A.R.G.E.T .lets users create programming configurations which are either more or less complex, depending on the user’s taste, simply by using their mouse and the Drag and Drop principle.
