New York, August 21, 2013 — Thrustmaster continues to expand its range of gaming headsets, and is proud to unveil its first 100% universal model: the Y-250CPX!

Superior audio performance for every system

With its distinctive Y-shaped design, the Y-250CPX clearly shows that it belongs to Thrustmaster’s gaming headsets range. It combines the best of its predecessors – the Y-250P, Y-250X and Y-250C models – in a single product compatible with PlayStation®3, PC, Mac® Xbox 360® and Playstation4®. Thanks to its detachable cable, it can be used with a wide range of other devices as well: Nintendo Wii U™, Nintendo 3DS™, PlayStation®Vita, MP3 players, tablets and smartphones – even for making phone calls!

The Y-250CPX’s strength, apart from its total compatibility, rests in the ultra high-performance audio rendering that it provides, thanks to the company’s R&D teams’ 20 years of audio expertise. “Powered by Hercules” audio technology incorporates premium 50 mm drivers built into the Y-250CPX, ensuring unparalleled sound reproduction and crystal-clear audio. The evidence is found in the headset’s smooth and stable frequency response curve: it shows a perfect balance between bass, medium and treble, providing a serious competitive advantage in gaming sessions. The Y-250CPX’s extremely high-quality audio performance is also a direct result of Electro-acoustic bass amplifier technology (allowing for double electro-acoustic amplification of bass frequencies), thanks to the ear-cups’ unique design, combined with electronic bass amplification built into the controller unit.

Where comfort meets ease of use

In addition to its superior audio qualities, the Y-250CPX also ensures comfort and effective passive isolation by way of its large, ultra-soft earpads. The headset provides not only physical comfort, but also ease of use, via the multifunctional controller on its 17 foot / 5.20 m cable: this handy controller lets users independently adjust the game volume, bass level, the voice level of other players, and the level of their own voice as well – you can even choose not to hear your voice on the headset at all. And then, of course, there’s the microphone: featuring perfect sensitivity and unidirectional technology, it has been designed to focus on the user’s voice, for optimal communication with team members. The microphone is even detachable and adjustable, allowing it to easily adapt to all head sizes and shapes.

  • The Y-250CPX will be available from October 2013, at a suggested retail price of $89.99 (taxes included).
